Stem Psychological Center is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our remote team. This full-time remote position offers a unique opportunity to provide vital mental health services to individuals navigating the complex journeys of trauma recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to evaluate the trauma history and mental health needs of clients, using standardized tools and clinical interviews to guide effective treatment planning.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, leveraging evidence-based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for clients to process their trauma, learn coping strategies, and promote healing.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other team members to create an integrated care approach that addresses the comprehensive needs of our clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques and emergency resources as needed.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources, fostering resilience and empowerment.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with legal guidelines and ethical standards. Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities focused on advancing trauma-informed care practices.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to continuously improve treatment efficacy and outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on working with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including military veterans, survivors of abuse, and those facing psychosocial stressors. As a vital member of our team, you will contribute to the healing journey of clients, empowering them to reclaim their stories and improve their emotional well-being.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology obtained from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as either a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience working with trauma-related cases.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Experience in delivering evidence-based trauma-focused interventions and therapies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, exemplified by a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor.
  • The ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, fostering a sense of security and trust with clients.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.
  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • Additional certifications or training in trauma-informed care practices and modalities.
  • Background in community mental health settings or with diverse populations.
  • Previous experience in assessment and management of crisis situations.
