Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental and emotional health, utilizing standardized tools and personalized interviews to gain insights into their needs.
  • Elicit client concerns, issues, and aspirations to construct tailored treatment plans that address the unique circumstances of each individual or couple.
  • Facilitate individual therapy sessions that may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, and other evidence-based modalities to manage a broad spectrum of mental health disorders.
  • Lead couples therapy sessions aimed at improving communication, resolving conflicts, and fostering a deeper connection between partners.
  • Regularly monitor client progress by reviewing treatment plans and making adjustments based on ongoing assessments and client feedback.
  • Maintain meticulous and secure documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and detailed case histories, ensuring compliance with both legal standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Engage with interdisciplinary teams and collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and holistic care for clients.
  • Remain alert and responsive to crisis situations, providing immediate support and intervention when clients experience acute distress.
  • Commit to lifelong learning by attending workshops, seminars, and other training opportunities to stay abreast of the latest developments in marriage and family therapy.
  • Advocate for client rights and encourage self-advocacy among our clients, ensuring they are informed participants in their treatment journeys.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Woman's Counseling Center, you will work with a diverse clientele, including teenagers navigating adolescence, adults seeking personal clarity, and couples grappling with relationship challenges. Our clients come from various backgrounds and present a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, trauma, and life transitions. Your ability to connect and communicate effectively will be essential to fostering trust and rapport with clients.

Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field is required.
  • Active licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist from the State Board.
