Job description

Provide an ever-vigilant safety and security presence on church property. The priority is to protect others by being aware and able to respond in an appropriate manner. Additional priorities include assisting in any emergency such as medical, lockdown, fire, gas leak, power outage, missing child, natural disasters, and other disruptive situations. This role works closely with the Facility Manager and Director of Security.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Director of Security, Facility Manager, and other staff in reviewing and developing up-to-date safety and security policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Maintain professionalism while being aware of your surroundings
  • Deter, deescalate, and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Lock any doors that do not need to be unlocked
  • Maintain skillsets through continued education and training
  • Report any suspicious activity to the Facility Manager
  • Document all incidents, large or small
  • Patrol the church premises, both indoors and outdoors looking for any suspicious activity, potential threats, or vulnerabilities
  • Ensure preparedness in case of emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, or security breaches
  • Coordinate with emergency services and assist staff, students, and guests as needed
  • Communicate with church staff, volunteers, and local law enforcement to enhance security measures
