Tech7 is seeking an experienced cybersecurity engineer – Information System Security Officer (ISSO)/ -Manager (ISSM) to join our team to support research and development efforts at the Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) Tools, Applications, and Processing (TAP) Lab. The OPIR TAP Lab is a USSF SSC Space Sensing program with a focus on developing applications to detect, track, characterize, and disseminate OPIR processed data. This is a unique role that also requires the individual to recognize and execute cybersecurity-related project management tasks for multiple projects operating in all phases of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.

As a Senior-level Cybersecurity Engineer – ISSO/ISSE, you will be responsible for helping to define strategy and gaining Authorizations to Operate for multiple classified systems and maintaining the cybersecurity posture of those cloud-based / hybrid-cloud-based information systems. This is a unique opportunity to develop your cybersecurity and programmatic skills, collaborate with cross-functional teams and continuously learn in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in establishing, securing, maintaining, and growing hybrid-cloud-based processing capabilities. This work includes tasks directly and indirectly supporting RMF/cybersecurity authorizations.

This position is located in the Boulder, Colorado area. Candidates must live within a commutable distance of Boulder, Co.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with Release Trains, Agile Teams, Physical Security, and other Systems Engineering Teams by providing cybersecurity guidance to establish and maintain secure systems. Interact and advise hardware, software, and network engineering teams as well as operational teams in an Agile environment providing cybersecurity guidance required to field secure development environments. You will be the cybersecurity advocate to contractor and DoD management.

Support multiple projects to:

  • Perform ISSO or ISSM duties for classified systems.

  • Provide cybersecurity-related guidance to engineering and other disciplines.

  • Support on-site cybersecurity assessments.

  • Support multiple development teams in an Agile environment to deliver measurable performance and quality.

  • Support configuration management of hardware, software, and network components.

  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks relating to cybersecurity and produce program reports/briefings for management and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to create and maintain security-focused tools and frameworks.

  • You will be a key member of the team, where the rubber meets the road, doing work that matters for some of the U.S. Government’s most critical missions, and utilizing the latest technologies in Cloud Computing and DevOps.

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate consistently with the government cybersecurity teams, government and contractor management, and scrum teams.

  • Working knowledge of Agile methodology.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a cybersecurity advocate to all stakeholders and all cross-functional teams during all phases of the RMF process.

  • Ability and eagerness to learn, drive, and perform any cybersecurity-related tasking required to successfully field a secure system in the DoD environment.

Minimum Education / Experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree around STEM specialty, preferably Cybersecurity.

  • 5+ years cybersecurity-related experience to include at least 2 years ISSO experience.

  • Current Secret clearance.

  • Eligible for Top Secret clearance is required.

  • CompTIA Security+ CE.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Annual Pay Transparency Range: $130,000.00 - $155,000.00
