Job Title: Seasonal Field Ranch Hand

MISSION: Serve Sunrise Ranchs mission and stewardship through conscious, value-aligned ranch work that creates a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained agricultural environment supporting the overall purpose of the community. Contribute measurable operational outcomes through consistent field maintenance, effective irrigation support, dependable seasonal labor, and care for the land and shared spaces. Support the growing season by maintaining productive pastures, efficient watering practices, and safe outdoor operations while demonstrating reliability, teamwork, and respect for the Sunrise Ranch community. Through diligent stewardship and collaborative service, help sustain the physical foundation that supports Sunrise Ranchs educational programs, guests, residents, and mission-centered activities.
WORK AVAILABILITY: Up to 29 hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
SALARY RANGE: $16.00 - $18.00 DOE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ranch and Field Maintenance
  • Mow and maintain designated farm and ranch pasture areas
  • Perform seasonal field upkeep, including hand digging and weed removal
  • Assist with maintaining clean, safe, and functional outdoor work areas
2. Irrigation Operations
  • Assist with irrigation setup, monitoring, and operation
  • Support hand set and wheel line irrigation systems
  • Help ensure proper watering schedules and efficient field irrigation practices
3. General Ranch Labor
  • Perform general ranch labor and seasonal maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Support daily operational needs throughout the growing season
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete assigned projects efficiently
4. Safety and Team Support
  • Follow safe work practices while operating outdoors and performing physical labor
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding daily tasks and field conditions
  • Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality throughout the season

Work hours: Seasonal position running through September. Scheduled 45 days per week (WednesdaySunday), approximately 45 hours per day, with morning shifts preferred between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work for extended periods of time
  • Frequent walking on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, digging, lifting, pulling, and reaching

  • Ability to safely operate basic ranch, landscaping, and irrigation equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, wind, rain, and sun exposure
  • Ability to stand and move continuously throughout scheduled shifts
