Job description

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club, set outside of Austin, TX.
Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club is seeking a Landscaper to join the Landscape Department.
The Landscaper is responsible for maintaining the grounds of the club and residential homes. Responsibilities may include weeding (chemical and manual), lawn mowing, string trimming, edging, mulching, pruning, and raking. This position is key to maintaining a magnificent visual appeal to our members. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain landscapes throughout golf course, club amenities, residential homes and common areas to include but not limited to weeding, lawn mowing, and string trimming, edging, mulching, fertilizing, pruning, and raking.
Install new landscape plantings and annual color (spring and fall) at residential homes, on the golf course, and around the club.
Water and maintain new plantings as well as annual plantings.
Participate in leaf removal during dormant seasons, as needed, throughout property.
Basic knowledge of proper chemical and fertilizer applications to maintain a healthy and aesthetically pleasing landscape.
Safe operation of all hand tools, large and small equipment such as push mowers, zero turn mowers, skid steer, tractors and mini-excavator.
Keep all work areas orderly and neat.
Assist with landscape projects as requested.
Participate in daily set-up/closing of the departments' tools and equipment.
Report any safety or maintenance issues immediately to the Landscape Manager/Horticulturist.
Attend department meetings and trainings as necessary.
Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Prior experience in landscaping, preferably within a residential or hospitality environment.
Ability to operate landscape machinery such as push rotary mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, utility vehicles, and riding mowers.
Possess a valid driver's license and ability to operate vehicles properly and safely.
Plant knowledge/Horticultural Practices knowledge a plus.
Additional Requirements
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
