Job description

Dover-Foxcroft, Maine: We invite a confident Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an established and financially secure rural health center (FQHC) with 50 years of successful operation. This nonprofit runs practices in 7 towns providing primary care, urgent care, mental health, dentistry, podiatry, physical therapy and more, serving thousands of patients across a large section of central/northern Maine.

QUALIFIED NEW GRADUATES are encouraged to apply. Join the dedicated “open access” team in this community health center and see unscheduled patients of all ages for walk-in primary care and urgent care visits. Urgent cases tend to be low acuity, as the local hospital emergency department draws the serious issues. You will see many uninsured or underinsured patients in this rewarding outpatient only role.

The practice operates 7 days/week (10a-8p weekdays, 9a-7p weekends) designed to provide convenient access for patients. You will have a 4 day/week schedule (40 hours) with rotating weekday and weekend shifts. Phone-only call is light and shared with other providers. You will enjoy practicing in a modern facility with state-of-the-art technology, electronic medical records, and excellent team-oriented support to provide the best possible patient care. This practice has a terrific 1:1 provider to nurse ratio.

You will earn a competitive salary plus benefits including relocation assistance, federal liability insurance, health, dental and vision coverage, disability and life insurance, and participation in a retirement plan (employer contributions begin in year 2). Enjoy 3 weeks of paid vacation time (4 weeks starting year 2) plus paid holidays, and additional paid time off plus a budget for your CME. You will also be eligible to apply for tax-free NHSC loan repayment.

Maine is the #2 State for Living and Working, and the #2 Safest State in the US. Dover-Foxcroft is a picturesque mid-Maine community just 36 miles from Bangor International Airport. Come to the largest town in the Maine Highlands: a colorful, all-sports community that attracts recreational tourists in every season for camping and hiking, fishing and hunting, kayaking and white-water rafting, and winter sports including snowmobiling, snowshoeing, downhill and cross-country skiing, and ice skating. This is the home of Foxcroft Academy, a nationally ranked prep and boarding school that enrolls students from around the globe and offers an International Baccalaureate degree program.

As a local, you will enjoy magnificent scenery every day. Settle in a friendly and welcoming neighborhood in town, or on your own acreage nearby. If you would rather live in Bangor, commuting is easy. Maine’s third largest city, Bangor has over 100,000 residents and a wealth of amenities including shopping malls and restaurants, a symphony orchestra, a respected children’s museum, several colleges, summertime festivals and concerts on the riverfront, a casino/hotel, and much more. Dover-Foxcroft is 2 hours from Portland.

The employer is ready to hire. Please contact us today for more details.

We are offering:
