Job description

Patient Services Representative I

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR) compiles ordered pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment and delivers same to patients' homes in an accurate, courteous, and timely manner. The PSR is familiar with patients', medications, supplies, and equipment, and techniques to prevent the spread of infection. The PSR is familiar with and assists in product ordering, receiving, stocking, shipping, and equipment. The PSR works under the limited supervision of the Pharmacy Operations Manager.

Essential Job Knowledge

  • Coordinates delivery of medication and supplies to assure timely, safe, and accurate delivery to patients.
  • Assembles and packages orders for delivery and maintains delivery schedule.
  • Oversees maintenance of company owned vehicles to ensure that they are clean and in proper running order. Tracks invoices and maintenance schedules on each vehicle.
  • Successfully completes initial and ongoing organizational and department education, training, and competency requirements.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities monthly.
  • Performs deliveries as needed.
  • Maintains delivery schedule and communicates with all staff on status of deliveries.
  • Acts as primary contact for outside courier services as needed to ensure proof of delivery (e.g., CS Logistics, UPS, etc.).
  • Communicates with clinical teams to ensure complete and accurate deliveries, including patient education and reimbursement documentation.
  • Assists with inventory as needed (e.g., order placement, receiving orders, shelving inventory, rotating stock, notating shortages).
  • Ensures that warehouse area is neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Successfully completes initial and ongoing organizational and department education, training, and competency requirements.

Schedule Requirements

  • Hours: 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. A 6 p.m. end time is not always guaranteed; there is some opportunity for overtime.
  • Potential travel locations include through the state of WI, parts of MN, and IL. Most driving occurs within 2 hours of Madison, WI.
  • 1 holiday per year on call.
  • Weekday on call varies but is required. Approximately 2 weekends per quarter on-call responsibility.
  • Must live within 1 hour driving distance from our 1345 Deming Way Middleton, WI location.

Job Requirements

  • State of WI Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of delivery and service areas required.
  • Inventory monitoring and warehouse skills preferred.
  • Current driver's license with a good driving record free of restrictions.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of traffic regulations and safety precautions to be followed while operating a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including some on-call responsibility.
  • Ability to perform frequent patient/client interactions using Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from both the ground and table height.
  • Must be able to carry 50 pounds while walking 20 feet.
  • Walking and standing for a significant amount of time
