Job description

Entry-Level

Yappy Pet Sitting is looking for professional pet sitters. We need someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and loves animals. Our pet sitters and dog walkers must be 18 years or older. We offer services in the following areas: Southlake, Trophy Club, Roanoke, Grapevine, and Westlake. This is part-time. The typical work schedule may include weekdays and weekends; morning, midday, early evening, and evening visits with breaks in between. The busiest work periods are holidays, spring break, and summer.

Job Qualifications:
  • Live within or near one of our service areas.
  • Own a reliable, insured vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license. Able to transport pets in your vehicle in an emergency.
  • Have experience with animals (not necessarily in pet sitting). Must be able to feed, walk, medicate, and observe behavior.
  • Coachable, willing to learn more about pets.
  • Physically fit and able to handle emergency situations with a calm, cool head. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Comfortable cleaning up accidents and handling dogs that have very little obedience training may pull on the leash, etc.
  • Have good smartphone/computer skills to use pet sitting app and communicate with clients.
  • Able to communicate well with clients and our office both verbally and in writing.
  • Willing to commit to specific time blocks of availability on a consistent basis and available to work during busy periods.
  • Extremely reliable and dedicated. Calling out of work is only acceptable in emergency situations.
  • Willing to work in any type of weather.
  • Have superb organizational skills, able to follow written instruction, act professionally, and be detail-oriented. Have good time management skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a criminal background check.
