How to make an extra $1000 a month as a nurse?

A live-in PACU PRN nurse can increase income by taking on additional shifts, working overtime, or offering specialized services such as anesthesia support or patient education. Gaining certifications like ACLS or PALS can also qualify for higher-paying assignments or per diem work, helping to reach the extra $1000 monthly goal.

Is PACU less stressful than ICU?

PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) nursing, including roles like Live In PACU PRN, generally involves a faster-paced environment focused on immediate postoperative recovery, while ICU nursing involves managing critically ill patients with complex conditions. The ICU is often considered more stressful due to higher patient acuity, longer shifts, and the need for advanced critical care skills. However, individual experiences vary based on workload, team support, and personal resilience.

Can I work PACU without ICU experience?

Live In PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) positions typically require knowledge of patient monitoring, anesthesia recovery protocols, and vital sign assessment. While ICU experience can be beneficial, some employers may accept candidates with strong nursing skills and relevant certifications like ACLS, especially if they demonstrate the ability to adapt to the PACU environment. Prior experience in acute care settings can improve job prospects but is not always mandatory.
