Is a controller equivalent to a VP?

A controller is a senior financial officer responsible for accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls, while a vice president (VP) is a broader executive role that may oversee multiple departments, including finance. In some organizations, a VP of Finance or CFO may oversee the controller, but they are distinct positions with different scopes of responsibility.

A controller is a high-level financial management position responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls within an organization.
