Job description

CIBM Bank is seeking an accomplished Corporate Banker to join our Indianapolis, Indiana location. You will play a key role in attracting new commercial loan customers, servicing existing customers, and upholding our core values: Service, Solutions, and Integrity.
Purpose:
This position is responsible for generating commercial loans and deposits within the bank's quality and risk guidelines, analyzing credits, and cross selling other bank products and services.
Essential responsibilities include:
  • Execute an extensive outside sales effort to generate loans and deposit accounts for the bank.
  • Analyzing financial statements and credit applications, while crafting loan packages customized to meet commercial customer needs.
  • Approving or denying credit within approved lending authority.
  • Assisting customers regarding existing loans, financing terms/options, and other related requests.
  • Negotiating credit terms within the bank's policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintaining or improving the asset quality of the loan portfolio, including monitoring for and identifying credit issues, and calling on past due accounts when necessary.
  • Preparing and making loan presentations to the loan committee.
  • Staying abreast of industry and regulatory changes.
  • Effectively and fluently communicating with customers, co-workers, and others within a culturally diverse work environment.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships at all levels by proactively participating and contributing to a positive work environment, controlling emotions and temperament, and exhibiting professional behavior.

Preferred Skills and/or Experience:
  • College degree is preferred, with a minimum of eight to 10 years of experience and an emphasis on commercial lending and production sales. Preference will be given to candidates with more than 10 years of experience.
  • Extensive experience in this region's banking market and a demonstrated ability to generate business leads is critical to the successful candidate.

Nature and Scope:
This position is a regular full time position on a schedule established by the supervisor. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement; candidates must live in the region to attend on-site work as needed. Occasional travel is required to perform the essential functions of the position. An altered work schedule and overtime is occasionally worked to meet the demands associated with the position.
