How much money do opera singers get paid?

Opera singers' salaries vary widely based on experience, reputation, and the size of the company or venue. Entry-level performers may earn around $20,000 to $50,000 annually, while established professionals can earn $100,000 or more per year, especially when performing in major productions or with renowned companies. Many opera singers supplement their income through touring, teaching, or recording work.

At what age do singers peak?

For live-in opera singers, peak performance age typically ranges from late 20s to early 40s, depending on vocal type and training. Singers often reach their vocal maturity in their 30s, with experience and technique improving over time, though some may maintain or enhance their abilities into their 50s or beyond with proper care. Longevity in singing also depends on health, training, and consistent practice.

  • Lead music workflow strategy meetings and implementation with operational cross-functional teams (Post Production, Dubbing, and Residuals)

  • Work closely with Music Business & Legal Affairs on union parameters and talent deal strategy to balance the creative needs of the title with budgetary parameters.

  • Determine recording session needs for songs and score and facilitate and schedule music recording sessions and travel - if applicable - within the music budget.

  • Schedule syncs, update agendas, and facilitate cross-functional and production team communication where needed.

  • Foster music production talent relationships by working closely with music personnel and vendors to ensure creative/production needs are met, and lines of communication remain open.

  • Track, process, and reconcile vendor and music talent payments in coordination with Finance and Business Affairs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all music-related expenditures.

  • Liaise with composers and contractors on auxiliary musician, singer, music editor, and engineer hires.

  • Lead and execute live-action and on-camera music production process; in collaboration with Music Creative, support the hiring, scheduling, and on-set management of music personnel for live-action musical productions.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to manage, facilitate, and verify accurate delivery of assets for dubbing, marketing, awards, and soundtrack releases.
