Refinery Operator / Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a reliable, handson Refinery Operator / Maintenance Technician to support preciousmetal refining and equipment maintenance. This role combines industrial maintenance (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) with refinery operations such as gold processing, alloy production, and metal fabrication. This individual will cross train in refining and wastewater treatment processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate refining and fabrication equipment: electrolytic cells, chemical refining systems, rolling mills, annealing ovens, continuous casters, and gas/electric furnaces.
  • Pour molten metal into molds or shot boxes (up to 100 lbs.).
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and plumbing maintenance on refinery equipment.
  • Move 55gallon chemical drums (up to 1,000 lbs.) using a barrel jack.
  • Follow exact refining, fabrication, and laboratory procedures.
  • Crosstrain in refining operations, laboratory testing (Xray, ICP, AA, Fire Assay), and wastewater treatment.
  • Wear required PPE including respirators; participate in Hazmat cleanup as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aptitude.
  • Interest in learning technical refinery and laboratory processes.
  • Ability to follow precise safety and operating procedures.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work around chemicals and hot metals.
  • Excellent attendance and safety record; must pass annual physical.
  • Teamoriented and able to work independently when needed.

Preferred

  • Experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, chemical processing, or laboratory testing.

Schedule

  • Onsite Monday - Friday (5:50am - 2:20pm)
