Xylem is looking for a Refinery Operator/Field Service Technician to report to our Geismar, LA (office) and Shell Norco, LA location to operate and service our equipment.

What your day will look like as a Refinery Operator/Field Service Technician

The Refinery Operator/Field Service Technician will support the daily operation of the Benzene Stripping Unit at Shell Norco. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the unit while performing various maintenance and operational tasks. Equipment specific training will be provided, but candidates with previous experience working in a refinery environment are especially encouraged to apply.

This position operates on 12 hour swing shifts with some weekends and holidays included.

Position Requirements for Refinery Operator/Field Service Technicians

  • HS diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to operate and monitor the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems.

  • One year of work experience preferred

  • 0-2 years technical experience preferred- industrial or commercial process water experience a plus

  • Experience with Microsoft office, including the ability to utilize smart devices

  • Ability to work in a high customer facing position

  • Ability to identify and remedy potential safety concerns

  • Ability to obtain and maintain privileges to drive a company vehicle

  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR, and DOT physical

  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
