Bertrand's Music is a family-owned business dedicated to enriching lives through music. We specialize in providing high-quality music education, instrument rentals, and support for school music programs. Bertrand’s School of Music, part of Bertrand’s Music Enterprises, is built on a foundation of expert instruction, personalized student support, and a commitment to fostering a lifelong love of music. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Violin teacher to join our team and inspire the next generation of musicians.

General Responsibilities/Duties

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging music lessons both in-person and via Zoom.
  • Create recorded lessons and other digital content to support student learning.
  • Plan and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs and goals.
  • Recruit and retain students by fostering a positive and inspiring learning environment.
  • Prepare students for performances, including recitals and other musical opportunities.
  • Provide timely and supportive communication through email and our student platform.
  • Inspire and motivate students, encouraging consistent practice and musical growth.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families, acting as a mentor and advocate for their musical journey.
  • Continue to enhance and improve your teaching abilities, staying current with best practices in music education.
  • Promote Bertrand’s Music services, products, and events to students and families.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music (Performance, Education, or related field) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience teaching music lessons to students of various ages and skill levels.
  • Proficiency in teaching both in-person and online via Zoom.
  • Ability to create digital content, including recorded lessons.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Comfortable using technology and digital platforms for lesson delivery and student engagement.
  • Organized, punctual, and reliable with strong attention to detail.
  • Passion for music education and a dedication to student success.
  • All accepted teachers will be required to be fingerprinted and have a background check through the Department of Justice.

Bertrand’s Music has been serving the needs of musicians, schools, and music educators in Southern California since 1983.  From humble beginnings, founder and retired music educator, John Bertrand, Sr., started his shop in San Bernardino with the goal to offer excellent service, quality instruments, and to help promote music education.  We have now grown to multiple locations and offer sales, rentals, lessons, and repair for all band and orchestra instruments. Â
