Job description

Description
The Department of Molecular and Systems Biology at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek applicants who will direct an independent research program to address complex problems in molecular, cellular, or developmental biology, with an emphasis on neuroscience, regeneration, or mechanisms of human disease using approaches in genetics, genomics, epigenetics or metabolomics. Applicants with a demonstrated record of technology development and/or application of innovative approaches are encouraged to apply.
Our department offers a collegial environment where faculty members benefit from collaborative interactions across campus, with foundational and clinical departments at Geisel, the School of Arts & Sciences, the Thayer School of Engineering, and the Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies.
A generous start-up package and access to state-of-the-art research facilities will be provided. Depending on areas of expertise, successful candidates will mentor and teach Dartmouth graduate students in PhD programs [Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB), Quantitative Biomedical Sciences (QBS), and Integrative Neuroscience at Dartmouth (IND)].
The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth is located on neighboring campuses in Hanover and Lebanon, New Hampshire, surrounded by a vibrant, academic, and professional community offering excellent schools, lively arts, and an outstanding quality of life. Boston, MA, Burlington, VT, New York, NY, and Montreal, QC are all within a few hours' drive.
Dartmouth is committed to academic excellence and encourages the open exchange of ideas within a culture of mutual respect. People with different backgrounds, life experiences, and perspectives make the Dartmouth community diverse, which enhances academic excellence. In their cover letter, applicants should summarize the impact and importance of their past work and address how their research, teaching, service, and/or life experiences will be of benefit to the Geisel/Dartmouth academic community and advance Dartmouth's commitment to diversity in service of academic excellence.
Review of applications will begin on August 15, 2026. Initial candidate selection is expected to start October 1, 2026.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and relevant postdoctoral research experience.
Application Instructions
Applicants should upload a cover letter, their curriculum vitae (without impact factors) and a research statement (not to exceed 2 pages) to:apply.interfolio.com/188572, and request letters of recommendation from three referees.
