Job description

Gastroenterologist Opportunity - Outpatient Practice in Delaware
A small, physician-led gastroenterology practice in northern Delaware is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to join its growing team. This is a rare 100% outpatient opportunity with no hospital call or inpatient responsibilities, ideal for physicians seeking exceptional work-life balance without sacrificing earning potential.
Practice Highlights
  • No hospital call - fully outpatient practice
  • Office and endoscopy center conveniently located in the same building
  • Approximately 80% ASC time / 20% clinic
  • Endoscopy cases typically completed by 4:00 PM
  • Small, physician-owned group with only three physician partners sharing ASC ownership
  • Excellent revenue split in the ambulatory surgery center
  • Partnership opportunity after one year, with the option to buy into endoscopy centers and significantly increase income
  • Physician autonomy in clinical decision-making and practice operations
Location
Located in the Wilmington, Delaware area, this opportunity offers exceptional quality of life without the high taxes of surrounding states. Physicians may choose to live in Delaware, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey-regions known for excellent public and private schools, highly livable communities, and access to major metropolitan areas.
Additional benefits of the region include:
  • No sales tax and some of the lowest property taxes in the nation
  • Easy access to Philadelphia International Airport
  • Close proximity to Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.
  • Amtrak service for convenient travel to New York City and points south
  • Quick access to the Jersey Shore and the beach towns of southern Delaware
  • Abundant outdoor recreation including beaches, boating, and coastal activities
Clinical Focus
  • High-volume endoscopy in a modern ASC setting
  • General gastroenterology in a streamlined outpatient environment
Requirements
General Requirements
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
  • Eligible for or currently holding unrestricted medical licensure in Delaware (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA registration and controlled substance license (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to obtain privileges at affiliated outpatient facilities and ambulatory surgery centers
  • Strong clinical skills in general gastroenterology; endoscopy experience required
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and teamwork skills
  • Interest in long-term partnership and practice ownership
  • Ability to work independently in a physician-led, autonomous practice environment
Benefits
Work-Life Balance & Physician Support
This organization is built around a physician-first philosophy designed to protect work-life balance while maintaining exceptional patient care:
  • Great compensation with reduced hospital time
  • Generous time off and sustainable schedules
  • Physician autonomy to make independent clinical and operational decisions
  • Flexible provider scheduling, controlled by the practices
  • A dedicated business management department that handles billing, compliance, staffing, and administrative operations-allowing physicians to focus on patients rather than paperwork
  • An environment that prioritizes time with family, friends, and personal pursuits without sacrificing professional growth
