Live In Manager information

What is a live in manager?

Live In Managers are individuals who reside on-site at a property, such as an apartment complex, hotel, or assisted living facility, and are responsible for overseeing daily operations, addressing resident or guest needs, and ensuring the property runs smoothly. Their duties often include handling maintenance requests, managing staff, coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs, and responding to emergencies. Living on the premises allows them to provide immediate assistance and maintain a strong presence within the community. Live In Managers play a key role in maintaining property standards and fostering a safe, comfortable environment for residents or guests.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a live in manager?

A Live In Manager typically needs experience in property management, strong organizational skills, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with property management software, maintenance scheduling tools, and basic facility systems is often required. Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills help build positive relationships with residents and handle day-to-day challenges. These competencies are vital for maintaining efficient operations, ensuring resident satisfaction, and addressing issues promptly within residential or hospitality environments.

What are some common challenges faced by live in managers and how can they be addressed?

Live In Managers often face the challenge of maintaining a clear boundary between their personal and professional lives, as they reside on the property they manage. They may be called upon outside regular hours to handle emergencies or resident concerns, which can impact work-life balance. To address these challenges, it's important to establish set office hours, communicate expectations with residents, and ensure there is a backup contact for after-hours emergencies when possible. Regular self-care and open communication with property owners or management companies can also help maintain a healthy balance.

Job description

Advanced Radiology Services, P.C. - Physician Gen Rad 5/9 Alpena/Alma

Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our practice includes 190 radiologists, 30 advanced practice providers, and 180 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.

What we do: ARS provides radiology services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan including MyMichigan Health. This nonprofit health system is headquartered in Midland with 8 medical centers providing care to a 25 county region. MyMichigan provides a full continuum of care across a wide array of settings, including urgent care centers, home health, virtual care, and medical offices in more than 30 specialties and subspecialties including cardiology, family medicine, hematology/oncology, neurosciences, orthopedics, pediatrics, vascular surgery, and more.

What we are looking for: We are currently accepting applicants for an alternate track 5/9 general radiologist to cover 2 MyMichigan locations. This schedule will allow you to maximize your time off with a schedule of 5 days providing on site daytime coverage followed by 9 days off. The typical schedule would include 3 to 4 days in Alpena and 1 to 2 days in Alma. Alpena is a 139-bed hospital on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron and Alma is a 107-bed teaching hospital serving central Michigan since 1955. The drive between the 2 locations is approximately 3 hours. Both sites are affiliated with the University of Michigan. The total number of required work days per year would be 130 (26 weeks) and days off would be 234. This is a partnership track position with no evening or weekend responsibilities, full compensation and benefits and travel expenses included.  You may live where you desire but proximity to Alpena and Alma and willingness to travel will be important.

Responsibilities in Alpena: You will perform interventional procedures such as IR drain placements, lumbar punctures, FL arthrograms, GI FL, paras, thoras, CT and US guided biopsies. You will also perform stereotactic and US guided breast biopsies as well as breast screeners and diagnostics. The average number of procedures per day is 11.  There is one full time APP on site.

Responsibilities in Alma: The main focus will be breast imaging with screening/diagnostics, US and stereotactic biopsies, and pre-surgical lesion localizations. Additional US procedures include thyroid nodule, lymph node, soft tissue biopsies, and occasional cholecystostomy tube placement.  You will also do CT lung, solid organ, and soft tissue biopsies as well as abscess catheter placement and PICC placements.  Occasionally you may do joint arthrogram injections, HSGs, and pain management procedures including joint injections. The average number of procedures per day is 9.  There is an APP there 3 days per week.

Why is our practice unique? ARS is a 100% physician owned and managed practice.  We are committed to remaining independent.  We are looking for entrepreneurial minded physicians who value involvement in decision making and developing our business strategy. Participation in section, committee and board meetings is not required but welcomed from day one. While we are an independent private practice, some of our physicians practice with an academic focus. In affiliation with Michigan State University College of Medicine, our radiologists have opportunities to teach and mentor residents and pursue research if desired. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled

Compensation/Benefits: We are currently offering a 50K recruitment incentive which is payable upon signing. We offer a competitive compensation package and opportunities for increased compensation by picking up additional shifts on a month to month basis. Our physicians pay “0” for medical/dental/vision coverage and enjoy an $18,000 medical reimbursement account annually. We also contribute the maximum amount allowed to the 401K plan ($70,000 in 2025). We offer a brand new 6-week paid parental leave benefit to coordinate with the 12 weeks of FMLA!

Requirements
  • American Board of Radiology or AOBR certified or Board-Eligible
  • Significant experience in breast imaging and procedures, MQSA certified
  • Significant experience in basic IR procedures
  • Breast or IR fellowship training preferred but will consider significant practice experience
  • Must be comfortable working autonomously in more rural sites
