What We Look For In a Korean Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of Korean Hangul writing system, grammar structures including particles, verb endings, honorific levels, sentence connectors, vocabulary development, listening comprehension, and Korean cultural practices. Ability to explain speech level differences, conjugation patterns, and subject-object-verb sentence structure while preparing students for TOPIK examinations or academic Korean coursework.
• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching Hangul reading and writing, grammatical pattern application, and conversational fluency building. Guides students through constructing sentences with correct particle usage, applying appropriate formality registers, reading Korean texts, and understanding cultural context in communication. Emphasizes listening practice with native speakers and connects Korean language to K-culture, business, and academic applications.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with Korean language curricula and TOPIK proficiency levels, and common challenges such as mastering honorific speech levels, understanding verb conjugation complexity, and developing listening comprehension speed. Adapts instruction using Hangul writing practice, Korean media immersion, and structured conversation activities to support learners from beginners through advanced students seeking proficiency certification.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
