We are currently seeking an Outside Sales Representative specializing in Board and Panel products to join our team.
Preferred candidates with knowledge on specific grains of wood, including plywood. Knowledge of wood through hands on experience or coatings experience is helpful.

Key Responsibilities
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for the overall relationship and management of day-to-day sales activities towards cabinet and furniture manufacturers in his/her territory. You will successfully manage the sales of Richelieu product solutions through structured consultative sales discussions, ultimately serving as a business advisor towards your customers. By positioning yourself as an indispensable resource, you will enable your customers to solve problems and increase business results. In turn, you will be building a thriving business of your own.
  • Increase Board and Panel product sales as a specialist in those categories, selling directly and partnered with others
  • Schedule and hold face-to-face meetings with new and existing customers, learning about their business and how Richelieu product solutions can enhance their results
  • Maintain accountability for the growth of your territory, both through new customer acquisition as well as the development of existing relationships
  • Identify and analyze past buying patterns of current accounts, and brainstorm ways to become their stronger, more inclusive supplier
  • Provide a state of the art customer service experience, positioning yourself as their desired one-stop shop
  • Educate yourself on, and continuously stay up to date with, Richelieu's product offerings as well as ever-changing market conditions and competitive analysis
  • Hold responsibility for system information and reporting in CRM application
  • As this position requires regular automobile travel, you must have your own independent, reliable transportation. This position requires you to work "in the field," making in-person visits to customers three to four days per week
  • Position may require lifting/pushing/carrying items up to 50 pounds

What We Are Looking For
  • Successful outside sales experience with wood panels, laminates, and boards (ideally in the kitchen and/or bath space)
  • Preferred candidates with knowledge on specific grains of wood, including plywood. Knowledge of wood through hands on experience or coatings experience is helpful.
  • Passionate, proactive, coachable, strong work ethic
  • Ability to schedule and manage your own time, delivering on the activities that produce results
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical, planning, organizing, and monitoring skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications; able to effectively use Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams for daily responsibilities and tasks
  • Experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software an asset
  • University degree preferred, but not required

Compensation and Benefits
  • Total annual earnings (base pay + commission + bonus) potential for the first 1-2 years is estimated to be approximately $65,000 - $95,000 (with no cap on commissions; total earnings will likely increase over time)
