Summary

This internship is for a student available to work a fulltime work schedule during the summer at the Coronado Generating Station. Internship would start in late September and conclude in late December. 

The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department's needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

What You'll Do

Job duties will include the following:

  • Work under the direction of a Plant Engineer. 
  • Manage contracts and contractors.
  • Provide job estimates and manage costs.
  • Design and analysis of plant equipment and processes. 
  • Inspect equipment associated with power production, and other duties as assigned.
Education
College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.
Experience
  • Mechanical, electrical, chemical, computer, or civil disciplines are preferred. 
Additional Requirements and Qualifications

College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred. Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills. 

  • To be eligible for the Student Intern Program at SRP, the employee must be actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours that are college level (100) or above over the course of a regular semester and must be working towards a degree from an accredited college or university.
  • For an accelerated program, the student must be enrolled in six credit hours in the equivalent of a traditional semester.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
