Right at Home, In-Home Care office located in Wallingford, CT is seeking to hire Live-In Caregivers who possess reliable car, drivers license, and insurance to join a dynamic care team providing a professional, comfortable, and supportive experience to our clients' while in their home. Right At Home, In-Home Care is seeking Live-in Caregivers to work in the following targeted locations: Wallingford, Hamden, Middletown, Cromwell, Southington, Plainville, Cheshire, Waterbury, Naugatuck, Middlebury, Watertown, Woodbury, Southbury, Terryville, Plymouth, and Thomaston locations.
Caregiver (Required) Items: No exceptions
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have a reliable car
• Valid Driver's license and auto insurance
• High School diploma or GED
• Must have the ability to pass a full employment background check
• Must have basic computer skills and navigate with little assistance from others
Nice to Have's:
  • CNA or HHA Certification
  • Covid Vaccination and Booster, PPD, Flu, Hepatitis B and MMR
  • CPR and First Aid Certification

Essential Caregiver Functions:
Performs personal care activities that assist the patient with activities of daily living. These could include (but are not limited to):
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Ambulation/Transfers
  • Dressing/Shaving
  • Prepares meals and snacks according to instructions
  • Accompany patient on errands or medical appointments
  • Performs light housekeeping activities

Performs patient-specific activities are taught by a Right at Home senior caregiver and/or office staff. These could include (but are not limited to):
  • Providing hospice supportive care
  • Medication reminders
  • Assisting with the prescribed range of motion exercises
  • Assisting with blood glucose monitoring
  • Care of bed-bound patients
  • Incontinence care
  • Use lifting equipment such as gait belts and Hoyer lifts

You don't mind getting a little dirty...this could include (but not limited to) assistance with eating, personal hygiene, assistance with dressing, shaving, light housekeeping, laundry, and other household chores.
You don't have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen.
You are able to assist the client in many ways, this could include (but are not limited to), medication reminders, assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises, dementia care, companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.
Must Haves:
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
  • You must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
  • Must have the ability to pass a full employment background check
  • Must have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agencies
  • Current CPR Certificate is recommended
  • 6 months experience as a Home Health Aide in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State-approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide course.
