Position Summary:

Eagle Fire Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to create designs, submittals, and permit drawings for local upfits, tenant improvements, and small-scale projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong grasp of NFPA standards, permitting processes, and fire sprinkler system layouts. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure code-compliant designs and smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and layout fire sprinkler systems for local renovations, upfits, and small-scale projects.
  • Create submittal and permit drawings, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and AHJ requirements.
  • Generate material lists and equipment specifications based on design drawings.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and verify system performance criteria.
  • Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) to ensure smooth permitting and approval processes.
  • Support field teams with design clarifications, adjustments, and small sketches as needed.
  • Assist in estimating and reviewing project costs based on design requirements.
  • Participate in pre-submittal meetings, project reviews, and job cost discussions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation for company records and compliance purposes.
  • Communicate design challenges, project schedules, and updates to customers and internal teams.

Job Requirements:

  • NICET Level II or higher in Fire Sprinkler Layout (or ability to obtain)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or SprinkCAD (or similar design software)
  • Familiarity with NFPA 13, 14, 20, and applicable building codes
  • Ability to create permit-ready submittal drawings
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience designing small commercial upfits, retail, or office renovations
  • Experience working with local fire marshals and permitting offices
  • Prior field experience in fire sprinkler installation or inspections
