The Millsboro, DE Animal Health facility is located in Sussex County, DE, within the Salisbury, MD-DE Metropolitan Area.

What you can expect:

Starting on day one, we will provide you the necessary training the Lead Technician will need to follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to all safety and company policies while performing advanced laboratory services in various manufacturing areas. Throughout your career, we will offer you continued development through training classes, workshops, meetings, etc., to improve job skills and product-related procedures.

Work with a variety of manufacturing equipment while completing processes throughout the manufacturing cycle

Performs manual and/or automated operations, general maintenance and support functions

Anticipates and solves complex production/operational problems

Organizes own time and that of others and will supervise some work of others

Read, write and comprehend technical information and to effectively impart information to colleagues at various levels

Perform more advanced mathematical calculations and conversions

Housekeeping in all work areas | Executes facility decontamination according to approved procedures

Performing aseptic procedures including media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest, filling vaccines, etc.

Performing non-aseptic procedures including handling of live poultry in the process of harvesting tissue and waste.

Filling, labeling, capping, packaging, and inspecting product.

Concurrent record keeping including charts, log books, and all pertinent documentation.

Identifies and addresses compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations as appropriate while notifying appropriate personnel

Accountable for accumulation, labeling and management of hazardous wastes, as appropriate to their area, providing they are properly trained prior to assignment.

Planning and implementing daily and weekly laboratory assignments as well as special projects and other tasks

Attend training classes, workshops, meetings, etc., as required to improve job skills and product-related procedures.

Demonstrates, at all times, safe work habits and maintains a safe work environment. Comprehends and complies with all safety and company policies and procedures.

Train, mentor and assist in supervision of other team members within the manufacturing group.

Assist in weekly reports as assigned.

Serves on safety, quality and other committees, if applicable.

Assist with the direction of others by:

Having accountability as a team leader; may have minimal supervision responsibilities within this position.

Acting as a facilitator to resolve conflicts within a team.

Ensuring written procedures are being followed

Ensuring safety of team members

Ensuring facility and equipment are properly maintained

Participating in special projects as assigned

Required Education:

High School diploma/GED with minimum of 4 years of laboratory or production experience

OR Associates degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 3 years laboratory or production experience

OR Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 2 years laboratory or production experience

Required Experience:

Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend technical information and to effectively impart information to colleagues at various levels

Ability to operate manufacturing equipment with training

Strong attention to detail and documentation skills are required

Knowledge of reading, mathematics and computer skills are required.

Ability to communicate and work in cooperation with other employees in a manufacturing environment.

Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test.

Experience in Aseptic clean room behaviors preferred

Working conditions:

The salary range for this role is:

$71,900 - $113,200

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
