ESPN Chicago is looking for a Producer to create, execute, and grow compelling sports content across audio, video, podcast, and digital platforms. This role is ideal for a highly organized, creative teammate who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys collaborating with talent, and is passionate about delivering engaging content to fans.


The Producer plays a key role in the daily execution of ESPN Chicago programming, supporting live broadcasts, podcast production, video streaming, and digital content initiatives. This teammate will work closely with hosts, content leadership, and production teammates to develop content that informs, entertains, and engages sports fans across multiple platforms.


Daily Tasks of a Producer:

  • Prepare and produce daily ESPN Chicago talk programming, including show planning, segment development, research, and live broadcast execution.
  • Collaborate with hosts and Content leadership to create engaging, timely, and relevant sports content.
  • Manage the flow of live broadcasts, support on-air talent, and ensure smooth execution of all show elements.
  • Research topics, gather audio and music elements, screen calls, and support daily content preparation.
  • Create, edit, and publish podcasts and on-demand audio content.
  • Develop production elements including bumpers, liners, audio drops, sound effects, station imaging, and other audio assets.
  • Ensure sponsored content and partner integrations are executed accurately and effectively.
  • Record, direct, and edit commercials, branded content, and other audio production projects.
  • Provide production support and coaching to on-air talent to enhance content quality and production execution.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and evolution of ESPN Chicago's video stream presentation and visual identity across platforms.
  • Create and manage on-air visual elements including opens, closes, transitions, lower thirds, sponsor integrations, bugs, motion graphics, and other branded assets.
  • Collaborate with Content leadership to develop new visual concepts, imaging campaigns, promotional content, and production elements that strengthen the ESPN Chicago brand and audience experience.
  • Maintain graphic templates, production assets, and workflows that support efficient and scalable content creation.
  • Edit, publish, and optimize video content from live shows and original productions for YouTube, social media, and other digital platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to expand audience reach through video content, emerging media platforms, and evolving content consumption trends.
  • Support the development of production standards, best practices, and workflows that improve content creation across audio, video, and digital channels.
  • Utilize emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools, to enhance content research, production workflows, audience engagement, and operational efficiency while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, and brand integrity.
  • Stay current on industry trends, production technologies, and audience behaviors to help drive innovation and future growth.

Preferred knowledge, skills and qualifications:

  • Experience in radio, podcast, digital media, video, or sports content production.
  • Strong knowledge of sports and a passion for creating compelling content for fans.
  • Experience producing live content in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong audio production, editing, and podcasting skills.
  • Experience creating and editing digital video content for multiple platforms.
  • Experience creating graphics, motion design, and branded visual assets for digital or broadcast content.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, or similar production tools.
  • Understanding of live video production, streaming workflows, and digital content distribution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Curiosity and adaptability in learning and leveraging new technologies, including AI-powered tools, that enhance content creation, production workflows, and audience engagement.


Hours/Salary/Benefits

Pay Transparency: The anticipated compensation for Chicago-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $55,000 – $65,000 (base). Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills and performance expectations.

This role is eligible for full benefits to include health, dental, vision, Life Insurance, STD, LTD, 401(k) Plan, Dependent Care, paid parental leave, and more with opportunities for salary growth increase with skills and responsibilities and meeting targeted goals. The position will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
