DoD SkillBridge Heavy Equipment Service Technician* _ National Field Service

*Please note: This is a military transitional program that does not provide compensation through Komatsu. You must be a current military Service Member eligible for the DOD SkillBridge program.
Komatsu, a leading global manufacturer and distributor of mining and construction equipment, welcomes transitioning active duty service members to participate in internship opportunities. Interns will receive training servicing electric drive trucks and/or electric shovels and will be evaluated for nationwide full-time positions. Service Technicians are responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of Komatsu construction/mining equipment, including electric drive trucks, electric shovels, and excavators. Interns will receive training on equipment maintenance, instrumentation and control systems, machining and welding as part of the on-the-job training portion of their internship.
Komatsu will consider any active duty member that is eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program however, Service Members with maintenance and/or skilled trades (electrician, machinist, welder) job experience are preferred.

Job Overview
Through the SkillBridge Service Technician program, Komatsu is assessing interns for the following potential nationwide full-time positions:
  • Service Technicians
  • Instrumentation & Control Technicians
  • Electricians
  • Machinists
  • Welders

Internships start monthly based on service member availability and chain of command approval. Komatsu will provide trainees with transportation to internship location, lodging and meals. Upon receipt of the application or email, a Komatsu military veteran will contact you to discuss potential opportunities.
Qualifications/Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Must be a current Active Duty Servicemember
  • Must be separating from the Military in 8-12 months
  • Must be able to complete up to a maximum of 120 days SkillBridge internship
  • Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
  • Willingness to learn and accept developmental feedback
