Part-time Discipleship Minister.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

Purpose:
The discipleship minister is responsible for equipping Godโ€™s people to do his work and empower members to be active in the church and community. This position will also oversee all discipleship initiatives of the church, including small groups, and engage in activities that help members grow and mature in their faith. The discipleship minister will also be responsible for all guest services, outreach, and other activities that ensure everyone has an excellent impression of Tower Grove Church.

  • Extensive knowledge of Godโ€™s Word.
  • The ability to preach and teach.
  • Proven skills in leading volunteers.
  • Strong skills in working with a diverse background of people.
  • Proven skills in developing small groups.
  • A heart for discipleship.
  • Urban environment experience.
  • The heart and skills to reach non-church/ goers (Millennials Generation X).
  • Develop inroads into the Shaw Neighborhood .

Job Functions:
  • Develop Tower Groveโ€™s Discipleship ministry as the primary avenue for spiritual growth.
  • Work with senior pastor in developing goals, and vision for ministries within the church.
  • Develop benchmarks for spiritual growth of all groups.
  • Recruit, train, and develop leaders to create additional Groups.
  • Recommend curriculum for Groups.
  • Ensure sound doctrine is consistent and taught within all groups.
  • Teach weekly a Discipleship Class.
  • Oversee attendance records.
  • Work with the Childrenโ€™s, Youth, and Adult ministry to create a cohesive discipleship plan.
  • Work closely with our Burmese and Congolese Congregations in creating a continued strategic alignment.
