Role Description
This is an on-site position with the opportunity to build a full-time caseload as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). The DSP will assist individuals with brain injuries, disabilities, and mental health conditions in their daily activities, support community integration, and provide ongoing care. Daily responsibilities may include offering personal care and fostering meaningful interpersonal connections.
Responsibilities
* Provide personalized, one-on-one in-home services to individuals.
* Support individuals in everyday activities at home and in the community, helping them build skills and confidence.
* Assist with grocery shopping, doctor's appointments, and other outings, providing transportation and companionship.
* Collaborate with individuals to implement support strategies that align with their interests and personal goals, including physical activities and community engagement.
* Aid individuals in completing housing applications and accessing government assistance programs.
* Help with monthly budgeting and effective household management for daily necessities.
* Complete and submit accurate daily progress notes to track each individual's growth and development.
Qualifications
* A Bachelor's degree OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) WITH at least 2 years of relevant community-based experience.
* Valid Driver's License.
* Access to a reliable, well-maintained personal vehicle that is suitable for transporting individuals.
* Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities.
* Must be willing to undergo a background check, provide a driving record, complete a health screening, and submit any required onboarding documentation.
* CPR/First Aid certification is required but may be acquired during onboarding process.
* Must have availability during weekdays. Typical shifts occur during daytime hours. No overnight shifts available.
