Job Summary:

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will provide hands-on care and assistance to individuals in their daily lives. Your role will include helping them develop independent living skills, ensuring community inclusion, and supporting their overall well-being.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care services tailored to the individual’s needs.
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals in meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
  • Promote independent living skills such as budgeting, grocery shopping, and household chores.
  • Encourage and facilitate community inclusion, social skills, and recreational activities.
  • Implement individualized goals and support plans in a person-centered environment.
  • Ensure the health and safety of all individuals under your care.
  • Identify, document, and report any incidents, allegations of abuse, or concerns as required.
  • Administer medications accurately (upon successful completion of an approved AMAP course).
  • Communicate effectively with staff, management, and families to ensure coordinated care.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in caregiving, healthcare, or disability support
    preferred (college credits may be substituted for experience).
  • Must be reliable, patient, and compassionate.
  • Ability to follow care plans and safety procedures.

  • Ability to pass background checks and required certifications.
