Responsibilities


Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to ensure general ledger accuracy
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and internal management reports
  • Ensure proper cost classification in accordance with GAAP and company policies
  • Partner with AR and Operations to resolve billing issues and support timely invoicing and cash flow
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support internal and external audits
  • Execute and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting
  • Support compliance with GAAP, FAR/CAS (as applicable), and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and optimize ERP systems (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint) and ensure data integrity
  • Identify and drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Project Controls, and Operations
  • Mentor junior staff and support training on accounting policies and procedures


Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (A/E/C or government contracting preferred)
  • CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting (FAR/CAS a plus)
  • Experience with ERP systems (Deltek Vantagepoint preferred)
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and deadlines
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset with focus on efficiency and controls
  • Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI and comfort experimenting and iterating quickly; uses data to validate ideas and measure impact.
  • Commitment to ethical and responsible AI adoption, including privacy-by-design and safe use of tools.
