The Lafayette School Corporation (LSC), is seeking a highly qualified and student-centered School Psychologist to join our special education team for the 2026 2027 school year. This position provides an excellent opportunity to support students, families, and educators by conducting comprehensive evaluations, interpreting assessment data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop educational plans that help students achieve success.
The successful candidate will possess strong assessment skills, a solid understanding of federal and state special education laws, and a commitment to working collaboratively with school personnel and families to address students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. An Indiana School Psychologist license is required.
The Lafayette School Corporation is located just one hour north of downtown Indianapolis and two hours south of downtown Chicago along I -65 in west central Indiana. Tippecanoe County is a growing area with a strong economic base. The Greater Lafayette Area is the home of Purdue University and the presence of the university helps to make Lafayette one of the greatest places to live in the Midwest. Position Description
The School Psychologist is responsible for conducting initial evaluations and reevaluations of students with suspected disabilities in accordance with Indiana Department of Education Article 7, the U.S. Department of Education, and other applicable laws and regulations.
School Psychologists assist in identifying students' strengths and needs, interpreting assessment data, and collaborating with case conference committees to determine eligibility for special education services and develop individualized educational programs (IEPs). They also work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support interventions that improve student learning and behavior.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in School Psychology.
  • Valid Indiana School Psychologist license.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Article 7, and other federal and state special education regulations.
  • Strong skills in psycho educational assessment, functional behavior assessment, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, consultation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community agencies.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial evaluations and reevaluations for students with suspected disabilities in compliance with Indiana Article 7.
  • Administer and interpret cognitive, academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and adaptive assessments.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and provide behavioral recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports that clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in case conference committees and explain assessment results to parents and school staff.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers to develop educational plans.
  • Assist in designing interventions and supports to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Provide consultation regarding learning styles, behavior management, and progress monitoring.
  • Maintain services consistent with ethical, legal, and professional standards.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and community agencies to support student success.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Compensation: $51,000-$71,000, plus a $2,942 annual stipend.
  • Contract Length: 201 days
