What is a live in couple?

Live-in couples are pairs, often partners or spouses, who are jointly employed to live and work on-site for a private household, estate, or hospitality property. Their roles can include a combination of housekeeping, property maintenance, cooking, gardening, and sometimes childcare or security. Employers value live-in couples for their ability to offer a wide range of services while providing reliable, on-site support. Both individuals typically have complementary skill sets, allowing them to manage diverse household or estate tasks efficiently. Compensation often includes accommodation, a salary, and sometimes other benefits.

A typical day for a Live In Couple often involves a variety of tasks, such as housekeeping, cooking, property maintenance, gardening, and sometimes childcare or pet care, depending on the employer's needs. The division of duties is usually based on each partner's strengths and experience, and flexibility is key since priorities may shift day-to-day. Couples may also be responsible for managing household supplies, coordinating with external contractors, and assisting with events or guests. Clear communication and teamwork are essential, as the role requires balancing professional responsibilities with living on-site. Employers generally provide private accommodation and cover utility costs as part of the compensation package.
