Job description

KID Foster Care in Broward and Palm Beach Counties provides short- and long-term care to children that have entered the dependency system. As the largest foster care provider in Broward and Palm Beach counties, the KID Foster Care program serves children with love and support while case workers assist the birth family towards their goal of reunification or permanency.
We are looking for an energetic individual or couple to live in one of our agency foster family homes to care for children/siblings who have been placed in the dependency system (Foster Care). Provide 24-hour supervision and a structured environment to ensure the safety and well-being of each child. One parent must be non-working to ensure the appropriate care of the children in the home. The foster parent(s) must provide for the physical, emotional, educational and social needs of the children until the biological family can be reunited or a permanent placement plan can be implemented. Must be able to parent up to seven (7) children from the child welfare system at one time.
Skills/ Requirements
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED and at least two (2) years of experience working with children and families in child welfare.
  • Candidate should have excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to be licensed as foster parents by the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Training Requirements:
  1. Attend a minimum of 12 hours of training each year. Supervisor may recommend additional training to improve skills in employee's particular field.
  2. Maintain current certification in CPR/First Aid, a valid Florida Driver's License, and an active foster care license.
