Job Title: Plumber

Job Description

This role focuses on commercial plumbing in new construction projects, handling all phases from rough-in to trim and fixture installation. The position requires a highly skilled plumber with strong copper brazing abilities, solid experience in domestic water and sanitary systems, and the capability to work independently with their own tools while following specifications and plumbing codes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform commercial plumbing work on new construction projects from rough-in through trim and final fixture installation.
  • Cut and thread pipe accurately to meet project specifications and code requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to plan and execute plumbing layouts.
  • Complete above-ground rough-ins, including installation of vents, sewers, connections, and waterlines.
  • Carry out finish or trim work so that installations and connections are ready for use, including toilets, sinks, showers, bathtubs, and associated hardware.
  • Install and service domestic water and sanitary systems in accordance with plumbing codes.
  • Install fixtures, hangers, and pipe securely and in alignment with design requirements.
  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, or fixtures for heating, water, or drainage systems according to specifications and applicable codes.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
  • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and monitor pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, and appliances such as dishwashers, water heaters, sinks, and toilets.
  • Direct and guide helpers engaged in pipe cutting, preassembly, or installation of plumbing systems or components to ensure quality and efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial plumbing experience in new construction, from rough-in to trim and fixture installation.
  • Proficiency in copper brazing for commercial plumbing applications.
  • Ability to cut and thread pipe accurately and safely.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Strong proficiency in rough-ins above ground, including vents, sewers, connections, and waterlines.
  • Proficiency in finish and trim-out work, including final installation of toilets, sinks, showers, bathtubs, and related hardware.
  • Experience with domestic water and sanitary systems.
  • Ability to install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as rulers and levels to locate and mark pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures.
  • Ability to perform leak tests by filling pipes or fixtures with water or air and reading pressure gauges.
  • Skill in assembling pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
  • Ability to install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, and appliances such as dishwashers, water heaters, sinks, and toilets.
  • Capability to direct and support helpers in pipe cutting, preassembly, and installation tasks.
  • Ownership of a complete set of personal plumbing tools suitable for commercial construction work.

You will perform tasks both indoors and outdoors as needed, working around piping, fixtures, and building infrastructure while following site safety procedures and construction protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakeland, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
