Your Role

The Cook III/Dishwasher is responsible for the cleaning of the entire kitchen and equipment in a proper manner. Perform all basic duties in the kitchen. Assisting each kitchen position as needed with their designated daily tasks.  

Your Responsibilities

Ensure all garbage and kitchen waste items are disposed of safely and appropriately.

Ensure the dishwasher is working at the required temperature & maintain the temperature logs. 

Participate in monthly apprentice demos and black boxes, as well as daily meeting.

Assist in preparing, cooking and service for outlets and concession.

Have full knowledge of all menu items in the area; participate in the creation of daily features and promotion.

Keeps overproduction and food waste to a minimum, ensures proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food in order to reduce food cost expense.

Clean and sanitize all equipment, counter tops, and shelves, reporting any areas and equipment in need of a work order.

Enforce a safe work environment for all colleagues and guests by upholding the safety rules provided by Hospitality department.

Foster an environment of cooperation within the department and between other departments within the facility, encouraging participation and input from all colleagues, while promoting professional work habits that will ensure that the department is being guided at all times.

Consistently offers professional, engaging, and friendly service.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience

Minimum completion of Grade 10.

Valid Food Safe Certificate is required.

Minimum one (1) year experience working in a commercial kitchen is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Thorough knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment used in preparing food on a large scale. 

Considerable knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and service, and of necessary precautionary measures.

Commitment to the ongoing success of our Culinary team.

Excellent hand/eye coordination.

Ability to remain calm in busy fast paced environment.

Demonstrate initiative by taking action and proactively pursuing job tasks and responsibilities.

Demonstrate teamwork by working co-operatively with others and engaging in team activities.

Demonstrate communication by sharing relevant information and keeping individuals or groups up to date with actions taken.

Demonstrate problem solving skills by identifying issues and exploring options.

Detail orientated with good organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment. 

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings.

This position includes heavy lifting of supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs.

This position may be exposed to loud noises and will require an individual to be able to concentrate in a busy environment.

Work in close proximity to the dish washing machine or equipment while cleaning.

Work environment is a busy fast paced kitchen. Requires standing and constant movement for extended period of time in hot and cold environment.

This position requires frequent walking and pushing carts with supplies to multiple locations within the department and facility.
