Live In Caption Editor information

What is a live in caption editor?

A Live In Caption Editor is a professional responsible for creating and editing real-time captions for live television broadcasts, events, or online streams. They ensure that spoken words, sound effects, and other important audio elements are accurately and quickly transcribed into readable text for viewers. This role often requires fast typing skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with captioning software. Live In Caption Editors play a crucial part in making content accessible to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a live in caption editor?

To thrive as a Live In Caption Editor, you need a strong command of grammar, fast and accurate typing skills, and a keen ear for audio content, usually supported by a background in language or communications. Familiarity with real-time captioning software, speech recognition tools, and occasionally stenography equipment is essential. Exceptional attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and strong communication skills help ensure accuracy and clarity under time pressure. These competencies are crucial for providing accessible, error-free captions that support diverse audiences and comply with legal standards.

What are common challenges faced by live in caption editors, and how can they be managed?

Live In Caption Editors often work under tight deadlines, requiring them to produce accurate captions in real-time as events unfold. This can be challenging due to the rapid pace, varying accents, or technical jargon. Effective time management, strong listening skills, and mastery of captioning software are essential for success. Collaborating closely with broadcasters, technical teams, and sometimes event organizers helps ensure the captions are both timely and accurate. Regular practice and staying updated with industry tools can help mitigate these challenges.

What is the difference between Live In Caption Editor vs Closed Captioner?

AspectLive In Caption EditorClosed Captioner
CredentialsTypically requires transcription or captioning certifications, strong language skillsOften requires similar transcription skills, sometimes certifications preferred
Work EnvironmentWorks on-site or remotely, often in media or entertainment settingsPrimarily remote, providing captions for TV, online videos, or live broadcasts
Industry UsageUsed in live events, TV productions, and media companiesCommon in broadcasting, streaming services, and online content platforms

While both roles involve creating captions, a Live In Caption Editor focuses on editing and managing live or pre-recorded content in media environments, often requiring on-site presence. A Closed Captioner typically provides captions for recorded content, mainly working remotely. Understanding these differences helps in choosing the right career path or job search focus.

Director, Integrated Marketing

Creyos

Toronto, ON โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision

Posted 22 days ago

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise and account-based marketing strategies, including creating tiered ABM models and account plays.

  • Manage, coach, and develop the demand generation and field marketing team to execute high-quality campaigns independently.

  • Oversee end-to-end campaign leadership, including planning, messaging, creative development, activation, and performance optimization.

Job description

Who we are:

Creyos (formerly Cambridge Brain Sciences) is a leading growth-stage B2B SaaS HealthTech company. Our proprietary digital cognitive assessment tools, including digital cognitive tasks and electronic behavioral health questionnaires, are used by healthcare providers treating mental health conditions, brain injuries, aging, and other patient populations throughout the world, as well as by leading researchers. You will be part of a team that includes not just your typical SaaS business functions (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success), but also engineers, psychologists, business leaders, and even a world-renowned neuroscientist

Who we are looking for:

We’re seeking a Director of Integrated Marketing to build the engine behind our growth. The ideal candidate has experience in both SMB and enterprise marketing and has built winning demand generation programs from the ground up—equally comfortable crafting account-based marketing (ABM) strategies as they are launching and optimizing hands-on, multi-channel campaigns. You appreciate the complexity of healthcare, including long sales cycles and buying committees spanning clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders. You are energized by building relationships with key stakeholders, advancing opportunities, and inspiring action.

You are a player-coach. You know when to set the strategy and when to write the brief yourself, challenge the message, and review the work. You’ve led multidisciplinary marketers before and raised their game, not just their output. You’re comfortable deciding with imperfect information and building a repeatable process where little exists yet.

This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, ON. The successful candidate must live in the GTA and be available to commute regularly to our downtown office.

What you will be doing:

As a Director, Integrated Marketing at Creyos, you will:

Enterprise Marketing & Account-Based Marketing

  • Help build and lead our enterprise and ABM strategy with the CMO, Sales leadership, and Revenue Operations.
  • Develop a tiered ABM model — one-to-one for strategic accounts, one-to-few for account clusters, one-to-many for broader segments — with clear target-account criteria and success measures.
  • Create repeatable account plays Sales and Marketing activate together, measured on account progression and opportunity creation rather than impressions and clicks.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members across demand generation and field marketing, helping them gain new experiences and elevate competencies.
  • Set clear priorities, ownership, and performance expectations, and address gaps directly and fairly.
  • Introduce the frameworks and coaching that let the team execute high-quality campaigns independently.

Integrated Campaign Leadership

  • Lead campaigns end to end: business objective, audience insight, message, creative, activation, and optimization.
  • Write the briefs that align messaging, content, creative, channels, Sales participation, timelines, and metrics.
  • Sharpen segmentation and targeting for professional and mid-market programs, moving demand generation from broad tactics to focused, insight-led campaigns.

Customer Marketing & Retention

  • Partner with Account Management, Sales, and Product on lifecycle programs supporting product engagement, renewal, advocacy, and expansion.
  • Support GTM strategies for new feature launches, developing communication and advertising plans to promote early excitement and adoption.

Messaging & Creative Direction

  • Partner with the CMO to continually elevate the clarity and differentiation of our messaging, grounding it in customer problems and outcomes rather than product features.
  • Give specific, actionable feedback to team members on concepts, writing, design, and sales materials that materially improves the work.

Planning, Performance & Optimization

  • Own the marketing campaign calendar and a consistent cadence for planning, briefing, launch readiness, and post-campaign review.
  • Report on performance across SMB and enterprise segments, including target-account engagement, lead progression, opportunity creation, pipeline value, and closed-won business.
  • Partner with Revenue Operations to improve reporting and attribution, and use results to improve the next program.
The skills and experience we are looking for:
  • 8+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, ideally in high-growth SaaS and specifically HealthTech.
  • 4+ years leading teams or complex cross-functional marketing programs.
  • Demonstrated success building enterprise and ABM programs across one-to-one, one-to-few, and one-to-many motions.
  • Proven ability to connect ABM activity to account progression, pipeline, revenue, or expansion.
  • Experience marketing to enterprise buying committees through long, complex sales cycles.
  • Strong integrated campaign development and project management across multiple channels and functions.
  • Exceptional messaging, writing, editing, creative briefing, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor tone, framing, and content to the audience and desired outcome.
  • A close working history with Sales, account management, and Revenue Operations.
  • Experience coaching marketers at varying levels of capability and independence.
  • Comfortable in a growth-stage, resource-constrained environment — resourceful, decisive, and low ego.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics, and other MarTech platforms.
Some of the reasons people choose to join the Creyos team include:
  • Get access to comprehensive benefits. We pride ourselves on offering benefits covering medical, dental, vision, mental health, wellness and more.
  • Grow through our career paths leading to more senior roles. We invest in the development of our team members, provide significant opportunities for growth and career advancement, and do everything we can to support one another to ensure individual and team success. We regularly promote team members to more senior roles.
  • Recharge during our annual company-wide break and extra holidays. In addition to vacation and quarterly Personal Days, every year we take a company-wide break in December to rest and recharge. We also give team members two additional holidays off per year: U.S. Independence Day and U.S. Thanksgiving, which we celebrate as Brain Holidays. We want you to feel motivated and energized at work!

This role is targeting a salary of $155,000 - $175,000 CAD.
