Job description

Are you an experienced Superintendent with over 6 years of expertise in managing large-scale commercial construction projects? Do you have a strong background in mechanical and electrical scopes? Join our Buildings Construction team in Caledon, ON to take charge of delivering high-quality projects while ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.
As a Superintendent, you will lead field operations, manage manpower and materials, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Your knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems will be key in addressing project complexities and achieving project goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee construction to ensure alignment with approved plans, specifications, and building codes
  • Contribute to M&E Scope of Work and Tender Packages by reviewing specifications, drawings, budgets, and subcontractor contracts
  • Develop and manage mechanical and electrical schedules, including submissions, deliveries, installations, and inspections, track progress and address delays
  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents with schedule updates, RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and project completion requirements
  • Plan and implement manpower levels, material needs, and equipment availability
  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical work, ensuring alignment with project requirements
  • Resolve conflicts in structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings and specifications
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on HVAC, boilers, chillers, and other systems
  • Oversee functional performance testing of building systems
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor progress
  • Mentor and guide project team members to support their development and career growth
  • Maintain project quality through compliance with the Project Quality Program

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar supervisory role managing large ICI construction projects, with a focus on mechanical and electrical components
  • Experience in full-cycle construction; healthcare and design-build project experience are preferred
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, boilers, chillers, and electrical systems
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, ensure quality, and maintain safety compliance
  • Familiarity with OH&S and environmental standards
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug and alcohol test

Compensation

$112,500.00 - $150,000.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
