Maintenance Technician Wanted!

Location: Providence County, RI

We’re seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to support our apartment community in Providence, Rhode Island. In this hands-on role, you’ll perform general maintenance, custodial tasks, and grounds care that keep our properties looking sharp and running smoothly. No two days are the same, and your work directly impacts the comfort and safety of our residents.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A reliable, hardworking team player with a strong sense of ownership
  • At least one year of maintenance experience (especially in apartments or multi-family housing)
  • Someone who can roll with the punches and adjust to what the day brings
  • A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation (you may be traveling between properties)

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Complete maintenance work orders accurately and on time
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
  • Diagnose and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, and basic HVAC systems
  • Repair and maintain doors, windows, cabinets, drywall, flooring, and fixtures
  • Install and repair lighting, switches, outlets, and plumbing components
  • Perform painting, patching, and minor repairs as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of building shut-offs, including water, gas, and sewer systems
  • Assist with apartment turnovers, including repairs, painting, and cleaning
  • Replace equipment and fixtures as needed
  • Support renovation and improvement projects
  • Assist with snow removal, trash removal, and general grounds maintenance
  • Clean and maintain common areas and mechanical spaces
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and orderly property
  • Participate in on-call duties for emergency maintenance and lock-outs
  • Identify and report safety hazards or security concerns
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in building maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting trades
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and building codes
  • Strong communication skills — written and verbal
  • Valid Rhode Island driver's license and personal transportation required
  • Must be bondable and carry current required insurances
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work from ladders
  • Willingness to be on-call for nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work at multiple locations as needed
