Job description

A Hair Sales Associate specializes in selling hair products, including hair extensions, weaves, braiding hair, and hair care products. This role requires strong product knowledge, customer service skills, and sales expertise.

  1. Key Responsibilities:
  2. Customer Consultation – Assist customers in choosing the right hair products based on hair type, texture, and styling preferences.
  3. Product Knowledge – Stay informed about different hair extensions (human vs. synthetic, clip-ins, bundles, lace fronts), hair care products, and styling tools.
  4. Sales amp; Upselling – Recommend complementary products such as shampoos, conditioners, styling gels, and hair accessories to boost sales.
  5. Demonstration amp; Education – Show customers how to install, maintain, and care for hair extensions and wigs.
  6. Inventory Management – Stock and organize hair products, track sales, and ensure availability of popular items.
  7. Sanitation amp; Hygiene – Maintain clean product displays, sanitize try-on areas, and follow hygiene guidelines.
  8. Handling Transactions – Process payments, returns, and exchanges while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  9. Customer Service amp; Retention – Build relationships with customers, address concerns, and encourage repeat business.
  10. Social Media amp; Marketing (Optional) – Promote new hair products through in-store displays or online content like tutorials and live demos.
  11. Staying Updated on Trends – Keep up with trending hairstyles, textures, and hair care innovations to better serve customers.
Essential Skills:
  1. Hair Product Expertise – Understanding different hair types, textures, and care techniques.
  2. Excellent Customer Service – Friendly, patient, and able to assist a diverse customer base.
  3. Sales amp; Persuasion – Ability to recommend and upsell products while maintaining customer trust.
  4. Attention to Detail – Ensuring customers get the right product for their needs.
  5. Basic Styling Knowledge – Familiarity with hair installations, braiding, or styling is a plus.
  6. Communication Skills – Clear explanations and product recommendations.
  7. Problem-Solving – Quickly addressing customer concerns about product selection, maintenance, or quality.
  8. Time Management – Handling multiple customers and tasks efficiently.
  9. Organizational Skills – Keeping track of inventory and maintaining an appealing store layout.
  10. Physical Stamina – Ability to stand for long hours and occasionally lift product boxes.
