Position Summary
The Department of Pediatric Pulmonology is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) Interdisciplinary Care and Outreach Program; a multidisciplinary initiative focused on improving care for infants and children with BPD across North Carolina. This role is primarily focused on project management, ensuring that program activities, timelines, communication channels, and collaborating sites function smoothly across inpatient, outpatient, and multicenter settings. This is a 0.5 FTE position, 20 hours per week.
The Program Coordinator will coordinate multidisciplinary team meetings, manage program operations and timelines, facilitate communication among clinical teams and external partners, support outreach and educational activities, assist with implementation of new program initiatives, and oversee collection and reporting of program metrics. The position will also support development and maintenance of the BPD patient registry, assist with regulatory and reporting requirements, coordinate patient tracking and follow-up workflows, and support grant-funded program activities. Additional responsibilities include website and educational resource development, preparation of program reports, stakeholder engagement, and other activities that advance the mission and growth of the UNC Children's BPD Program.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Management Preferences
  • Clinical research experience preferred.
  • Prior program management experience, including planning, implementation, budgeting, and evaluation.
  • Ability to interact diplomatically and professionally with administration, faculty, clinical personnel, and patients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively articulate the mission of BPD program through his/her work, and in front of large groups of people from various backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer related programs.
