The Loan Coordinator Specialist plays a critical role in streamlining the mortgage process by managing the ordering and review of essential third-party services and documentation verifications. As part of a newly formed centralized task team, this position supports branch operations by handling high-volume, redundant tasks and collaborating with AI-based tools to ensure data integrity and efficiency. This role allows loan processors to shift their focus to file readiness and guideline adherence, reducing underwriting touches and accelerating closing timelines. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, process-driven, and comfortable with technology-driven environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review loan application and product information to determine appropriate verification needs
  • Order and track IRS Tax Transcripts based on borrower income type and loan product
  • Order Verbal Verifications of Employment (VVOEs), income/employment work orders, and follow up as needed
  • Manage ordering of appraisals, title insurance, and homeowners’ insurance (as phased into workflow)
  • Utilize AI technology to identify discrepancies between borrower-provided documentation and third-party verifications
  • Maintain real-time task dashboards and communicate status updates to processors and branch teams
  • Escalate documentation inconsistencies or delays to appropriate team members
  • Coordinate with underwriting and compliance teams to ensure all required documentation is complete before submission
  • Participate in testing and implementation of AI tools that support the task workflow
