Job description

The Production Services Manager is responsible for the technical preparation, configuration, and execution of live event production systems for University of South Florida Athletics. This position focuses on the loading, testing, troubleshooting, and operation of Daktronics Show Control and related production technologies to ensure seamless event day execution.

Working under the direction of the Senior Director of Production Services, this role translates event scripts and marketing run of show documents into executable production workflows within venue technologies. The Manager serves as the primary technical operator for show control systems on game day and plays a key role in identifying and resolving potential issues prior to live events.

This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Production Services.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in broadcasting, media production, communications, or related field, or a combination of education and relevant professional experience as a substitute for the minimum education requirement.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in live event production, game presentation, or show control operation.
  • Demonstrated experience operating Daktronics Show Control or similar live event control systems.
  • Strong understanding of playback systems, graphics workflows, signal routing, and event timing.
  • Ability to read and interpret production scripts and translate them into technical execution plans.
  • Experience troubleshooting live production systems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by athletics events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in collegiate athletics or a professional sports environment.
  • Familiarity with sponsor activation execution and live event promotions.
  • Experience training or supervising student employees.
  • Working knowledge of basic video editing or graphic preparation workflows.
  • Understanding of NCAA or conference event presentation standards.
  • Load, configure, and test Daktronics Show Control files and related production elements prior to each athletic event.
  • Execute show control operations on game day, ensuring accurate timing, content sequencing, sponsor integration, and system reliability.
  • Review marketing and event scripts in advance of each event to identify technical risks, timing conflicts, asset gaps, or system limitations.
  • Translate run of show documents into event ready production formats, including playlist building, trigger configuration, and automation setup.
  • Conduct pre-event system checks, cue to cue testing, and full show rehearsals to ensure technical readiness.
  • Troubleshoot playback, graphics, audio, and control room related issues before and during live events.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Production Services to refine workflows, documentation, and quality control standards.
  • Work closely with marketing and event operations teams to clarify script elements, sponsor activations, and timing adjustments.
  • Coordinate with technical staff to ensure all control rooms and venue production systems are properly configured and functioning.
  • Maintain organized digital asset libraries and ensure all video, graphics, and sponsor elements are loaded and verified prior to doors opening.
  • Support equipment tracking, documentation, and system updates related to show control and production technologies.
  • Assist in training student operators and part time staff on Daktronics Show Control and event day technical procedures.
  • Remain on site during events to manage live playback execution and respond to real time operational needs.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
