Your ownership of each case helps ensure nothing falls through the cracks. From managing discovery and coordinating depositions to maintaining consistent client communication, your work keeps cases progressing efficiently and strategically. What you’ll be doing:


You’ll serve as a central point of coordination for active litigation cases, including:

  • Serving as the client’s primary point of contact, conducting status calls every 30–45 days to check on treatment and provide case updates.
  • Managing litigation deadlines, including setting reminders for motions, pleadings, discovery, and court requirements. Drafting and filing standard motions and pleadings in a timely manner.
  • Completing and coordinating discovery, including plaintiff discovery, standard discovery to defendants, and non-party discovery (e.g., cell phone carriers, defense experts, insurance carriers).
  • Preparing medical binders and organizing evidence for mediation and trial.
  • Scheduling depositions and mediation.
  • Verifying and addressing potential liens.
  • Ensuring all discovery is received and answered prior to depositions.
  • Delegating medical records, billing, and balance requests to the Legal Assistant and overseeing follow-through.
  • Reviewing incoming mail and ensuring appropriate action or attorney review.
  • Maintaining detailed case notes in the case management system in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Following established trial preparation checklists and notifying the Litigation Attorney of any case developments or concerns.
  • Closing cases in the system upon final settlement or satisfaction of judgment.
Requirements:

You’re highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once. You understand the importance of deadlines and accuracy in litigation and take pride in keeping everything running smoothly. You communicate clearly and professionally with clients, attorneys, and external partners, and you’re motivated to take ownership of your work.


What you bring:

  • Experience with and knowledge of Illinois law is required
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior legal experience, especially in personal injury litigation, strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines, documentation, and client communication
