Job SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting in the creation of promotional plans for marketing. Developing and overseeing the production/implementation of product literature. Serve as a marketing communications consultant to group accounts, focused on the Texas Public Sector. Responsibilities include developing content, leading, implementing, measuring and reporting on specific marketing initiatives and programs. Responsibilities also include chairing and/or serving on committees, as well as assisting in developing and monitoring a budget for collateral under purview.
Job Description
* Develop, review and produce audience specific marketing/sales product literature, newsletters, and other communications used in selling and retaining accounts and educating our members and potential members.
*Research, write, edit and assist in coordinating the production and publication of materials in print and/or electronic formats.
* Work with Marketing, Sales, Product Management, and Product and Market Research to create promotional plans for new introductions, change in ancillary benefits administrators; e.g., vision vendor.
* Assist Marketing and Sales staff to determine the most effective ways to convey the key benefits/features of our products to producers, clients, prospective clients, employees or members. Evaluate end result and is responsible for recommending any changes.
* Participate in budget planning and analysis. Review invoices and enter key information in database to track expenses per product line, communication medium, etc.
* Chair and/or serve on various communications committees and producer, employer and/or member newsletter committees.
* Work with Product Management and Legal to ensure collateral materials comply with federal and state legislation, BCBSA brand regulations, and minimize exposure to litigation.
* Collaborate with Legal, Medical Directors, Product Management, Marketing and Sales, E-Solutions, Product and Market Research, ITG, Graphics, and other professional and management staff to produce communications.
* Work with external consultants/vendors, including benefit program management (pharmacy benefits administrator), communications/marketing agencies, translators, photographers, fulfillment houses, and designers to develop content for newsletters and literature and manage the review, production, distribution, and budgetary processes.
* Keep track of usage and inventory for all literature within his/her purview.
* Arrange for documents to be posted to the Intranet and for translations of materials to other languages
Required Job Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree or 4 years' experience in writing, marketing and communication activities.
*4 years' experience in communications.
*Clear and concise interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
*PC proficiency to include Word, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes.
*Self-starter with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Job Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications.
*Knowledge of HCSC products.
*Knowledge of various print, photo video production, and graphic design.
*Knowledge with Desktop Publishing.
