Job description

Robert Half Legal is partnering with a boutique plaintiff-side law firm in search of a California-barred Litigation Attorney for a full-time contract engagement. This is a fully remote opportunity supporting a dynamic practice focused on complex plaintiff litigation, including class actions, fire litigation, bad faith claims, personal injury, and mass tort matters. This role is ideal for an attorney who is comfortable managing a busy litigation caseload, collaborating with a remote team, and contributing across multiple high-exposure plaintiff matters in state and federal court.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle litigation matters from case development through resolution
  • Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation-related documents
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategy memoranda
  • Manage written discovery, depositions, and motion practice
  • Assist with class action, mass tort, catastrophic injury, fire litigation, and insurance bad faith matters
  • Prepare for hearings, mediations, and trial-related proceedings
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal stakeholders
  • Support case investigation, fact development, and damages analysis
  • Work closely with firm leadership and litigation teams to advance case strategy

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar license required
  • Prior litigation experience required, ideally within plaintiff-side matters
  • Experience with one or more of the following strongly preferred: complex litigation, class actions, fire litigation, bad faith, personal injury, and mass torts
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a fully remote environment
  • Experience in California state court practice and/or federal court litigation preferred
  • Trial preparation experience is a plus

Why This Role

  • Full-time contract opportunity with immediate start
  • Fully remote flexibility from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Opportunity to work with a respected boutique plaintiff firm on sophisticated, high-impact litigation
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience
