Job Description Junior Associate - Litigation Ervin Cohen Jessup is looking to add a junior-level (2 -4 years in practice) Business and Commercial Litigation Attorney to the largest and oldest law firm in Beverly Hills. This is a unique opportunity to join our litigation practice, which provides its associates with significant hands-on training across a highly diverse client base. The firm's litigation practice includes complex and varied commercial, intellectual property, trust, estates, trade secrets, environmental, and real estate litigation.

Experience in business litigation, as well as contract review and negotiation, is highly desirable. Associates participate in all aspects of our cases. We offer a unique level of responsibility that not only is commensurate with the experience you have but also will provide you with an immediate opportunity to develop further your skills and experience as an attorney.

Responsibilities: Handle commercial litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, mediation, arbitration, and trial. Represent clients in a variety of business and commercial disputes, including contract disputes, vender agreements, disputes regarding restrictive covenants, trade secret litigation, confidential information and unfair competition claims, partnership and Limited liability disputes among members. Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs; prepare and argue motions in state and federal court.

Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel. Qualifications: Juris Doctorate from a top tier law school. Admission to the California Bar is required.

Minimum of 2 years of commercial litigation experience. Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Compensation and Benefits: We offer competitive compensation and benefits package, including: Starting salary between $200,000 - $260,000 depending on class year. Discretionary bonus based on billing.

1800 billable hours per year 3 days in the office (Tues & Thurs required), 3rd day is your choice.
