This attorney position ensures the Deputy General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer is kept informed about case law, legal proceedings and current events, as well as their implications to Stormont Vail. The In-House Attorney will work with Deputy General Counsel to oversee litigation and risk mitigation for the organization as assigned and to manage outside counsel. The In-House Counsel assists in the development, implementation and management of policies, processes, procedures and educational programs to drive overall compliance with internal and external policies, standards, laws and regulations. The In-House Counsel supports the Vice President/Deputy General Counsel to successfully meet the duties and expectations of the legal program. This position also indirectly assists and guides organizational directors and managers in their roles.Education QualificationsJuris Doctorate RequiredExperience Qualifications2 years Working in a law firm or in a corporation as an attorney. Preferred1 year Experience related to contract drafting and negotiating. Preferred1 year Litigation experience, including medical malpractice, property, real estate, personal injury and related insurance claims. Preferred2 years Experience administering large scale projects or programs. Preferred1 year Experience in a healthcare setting performing legal/administrative/compliance related duties or experience in a law firm supporting clients in the healthcare industry.
