Job description

Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add an Associate Attorney in our Springfield office. We are seeking an attorney with 1 to 3+ years of experience who has litigation and trial prep skills and is eager to put those skills to work. As an Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with and be mentored by highly experienced Litigation and Business law attorneys. You will learn different aspects of civil litigation, gain experience in trials, and will be working with a team of attorneys on a multitude of cases. You will also learn to work on all aspects of corporate law; business formations, draft of shareholder/member agreements, contracts, and all aspects of business-related litigation. Successful candidates will have a durable work ethic, superior ability to multitask, and enjoy working in a fast pace and intellectually stimulating setting.
Gain valuable and real-world legal experience by working alongside experienced attorneys practicing in state courts in Springfield and Southwest Missouri!
What you'll do:
  • Collaboration: Work closely with experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants on a wide range of transactional and real estate matters, gaining hands-on exposure to sophisticated legal work, inclusive of business formations, shareholder agreements, operating agreements, etc.
  • Drafting: Draft and prepare contracts, commercial and residential lease agreements, real estate documents, and other transactional materials essential to client matters.
  • Attorney Responsibilities: Assist with drafting and reviewing real estate transactional documents, preparing liens, and supporting homeowner association matters, including reviewing and amending covenants, conditions, and restrictions.
  • Legal Support: Support business clients by preparing entity formation documents, assisting with mergers and acquisitions, and contributing to due diligence and organizational structuring.
  • Analyze: Review, analyze, and revise contracts, covenants, and other legal documents to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Trial Prep: Collaborate with experienced litigation attorneys to prepare evidence, documents and presentations as you prepare for trial.

What we're looking for:
  • One to three plus years of experience in the legal field
  • Working knowledge of state and federal laws and procedures
  • Strong analytical, communication and people skills
  • Ability to handle caseloads and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with corporate professionals
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education and Qualifications:
  • A law degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Actively licensed in Missouri
