Floater Commercial Litigation Legal Secretary
Location: New Jersey Office (On-site, Monday-Friday)
Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary: Market-based, OPEN (Applicants must indicate salary requirement)
What You'll Do:
  • Provide secretarial and administrative coverage for litigation attorneys and secretarial absences as needed across departments.
  • Screen and direct incoming calls, take detailed messages, and manage attorney calendars.
  • Prepare, revise, and format legal documents in compliance with firm standards.
  • Assist with court filings via E-Filing systems for both Federal and State Courts.
  • Create and edit Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents using firm-approved tools.
  • Assist attorneys with docketing deadlines, time entry, expense reports, and document management.
  • Manage incoming/outgoing mail and ensure proper filing of all legal documentation.
  • Support various practice groups as needed, often at short notice.
What You'll Bring:
  • 10+ years of experience as a litigation legal secretary in a law firm environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, iManage, Kofax, Best Authority, Aderant, Litera Compare, Big Hand Dictation, and Compulaw.
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and excellent proofreading/editing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a team player with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Ability to work well independently and under pressure in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Flexibility to provide coverage across multiple attorneys, departments, or practice groups as required.
  • A current Notary Public commission (or willingness to obtain one within 6 months of hire).
  • High school diploma required; further education or legal training a plus.
