Job Description


The Document Analyst provides quality word processing, database, spreadsheet, and other technical support to attorneys, professionals, paralegals, secretaries, and staff.

WORK HOURS: 3PM - 11:00 OR 11:30PM (Depending on location)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Input, format and edit documents from a variety of sources, including handwritten drafts, transcription software, etc.

  • Format and/or reformat documents using Word Styles and/or Litera schemes

  • Mark and generate Tables of Contents (TOCs) and Tables of Authority (TOAs) utilizing Best Authorities or other similar software

  • Compare documents and generate redlines with Litera Compare, native Word comparisons or similar software

  • Produce PowerPoint presentations utilizing firm templates; familiarity with master slide manipulation and design

  • Use mail merge to create merge letters, agreements, envelopes, badges, tent cards, etc.

  • Image manipulation and graphics

  • Create and reformat figures in Visio or PowerPoint

  • Convert PDF into formatted documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Create and edit Excel spreadsheets, including charting and graphing functions

  • Create and edit PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Professional and/or Kofax Power PDF Advanced

  • Communicate with attorneys, professionals, paralegals, secretaries, and staff to assure specifications are met and facilitate the meeting of deadlines

  • Transcribe audio using Word speech-to-text or AI speech-to-text functionality

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide assistance in the resolution of document production issues and suggest various methods for producing documents effectively and efficiently

  • Act as additional technical support for firm software programs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; college or technical school degree a plus but not required.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a legal word processing environment.

  • Superior knowledge of current office technology, including but not limited to, MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), iManage Work 10, Kofax Power PDF Advanced, Litera Compare, Best Authority, WinZip/7-Zip, DocXTools, Litera Forte and Adobe Acrobat Professional

  • Ability to type at least 65 wpm with a high degree of accuracy

  • Detail oriented with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and work demands

  • Flexibility in daily schedule to meet Firm's needs during periods of heavy workload or special projects; availability to work scheduled overtime, as needed

This is an hourly, non-exempt position that is eligible for a generous overtime plan that exceeds minimum legal requirements.

The anticipated good-faith base salary range for this position is:

  • DC: $76,978 - $105,844 per year.

  • Boston: $78,358 - $107,741per year.

  • Chicago: $72,295 - $99,404per year.

  • NY: $86,051 - $118,320 per year.

In addition to a competitive base salary, certain positions are eligible for a comprehensive performance-based bonus, payable monthly or annually.
